I’ve witnessed firsthand the devastating consequences of mental illness within my community, among loved ones, and in my own life.   The current state of mental healthcare is in a crisis.  It’s characterized by broken systems, inaccessible services, and a profit-driven industry that often falls short of its promises. We’ve become a society overly reliant on medication advertisements and cookie cutter therapy as a prescription to feel better.   We, as a collective community, have  lost sight of our own agency in managing our mental health. In our most vulnerable moments, we’ve been conditioned to trust the “experts” without question. It is essential to reclaim our power and prioritize self-reliance.  A holistic approach to mental healthcare is not a new concept by any means, it is the core of our existence.  This is a call to action. It’s an invitation to explore the interconnectedness of our minds, bodies, and spirits. It is a space where we can ask questions and find answers.   Change is possible… only when it begins.
